Not a studio shot. The TV cast this light from about 6 feet away after a healthy pour of a red blend.

Leaving a size 13 EE footprint in 1/4 inch of fresh hail took about 2 minutes, which was good way to perk up another lazy pandemic Sunday afternoon.

I have never had a meal or drink indoors (carry out only) since last February and now that it's the dark rainy season in the NW, I'm feeling the weight of missing the Aalto Lounge to have a proper Old Fashioned and listen to the soundtrack of the night from local DJ's. Here's to the time when we can return to our favorite watering holes en masse. Stay healthy.

Due to the pandemic, most in-person avalanche safety courses are not being offered this winter. Before venturing out to potential areas of risk, check out online resources or have an experienced friend teach you the basic fundamentals of reading terrain, self-rescue, digging a snow cave, etc. Stay safe and healthy!

With just the right upward tilt of the tripod head, the wide angle lens distorted the sides of this scene and “bends” the wall of icicles above. This method wouldn’t be ideal for architecture, but it works well here. At least I think so!

Here is a winter-themed photo that is similar to the last one I posted, but instead of an upward view, this one is toward the ground. When making photos, don’t just look at what’s in front of you. Take a moment to look at every angle and you might come up with more options for making photographs.
