The Portland Climate Action Team (PCAT) is comprised of residents of the Greater Portland area of Maine who want to take meaningful action to promote clean energy and reduce carbon pollution in the city.

On May 20, the Maine Department of Energy Resources and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection announced the launch of the Maine Data Center Advisory Council, established by Governor Janet Mills via executive order. The 17-member Council will deliver policy recommendations on large-scale data center development in Maine, focusing on protecting ratepayers, maintaining electric grid reliability, minimizing environmental impacts, and enabling responsible economic development.
The Council’s meetings will be open to the public, with the first meeting scheduled for June 3, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. via Zoom. Meeting details and registration are available here.
