The Army National Scholarship Board offers 2-4 year scholarships to high school seniors and students already on the university campus. Cadets can elect 100% tuition or room & board (up to $10,000 per year), a monthly allowance of $420 per month and includes the cost of books and fees. In addition, some universities offer extra incentives. The University of Portland contributes free room & board, when a Cadet is awarded an ROTC scholarship. Currently, the Army is holding their National HS Scholarship Board. The next scholarship board packet deadline is January 15, 2022 and the final scholarship board packet deadline is March 05, 2022. I have included the weblink for the Army ROTC information and scholarship application https://www.goarmy.com/rotc. The application process weblink is towards the bottom of the page. Last weekend Pilot Battalion conducted their Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX) at Camp Umatilla. Cadets lead squad-sized operations in realistic, challenging situations to gain experience leading and being part of small units in the field. Cadets also ran an operation center, did practical day-to-night land navigation, and fired live rounds from crew-served weapons.

Thank you Oregon Army National Guard and .det695 for your support.

He has been on two-noncombat deployments to Korea and his most recent, European Command (EUCOM). CPT Taylor held the role of a Platoon Leader as maintenance, tank, and distribution officer. His most recent assignment was as a Forward Support Company Commander from March 2020 to July 2021 in the 3-4 Assualt Helicopter Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade. For exemplary performance during garrison and field training of training week 4, CDT Joel Betty was awarded Cadet of the Week for Pilot Company. CDT Betty constantly seeks to challenge himself as shown by his willingness to race SSG Dupree, he improves the organization by assisting and teaching those around him, and never fails to dive in and be willing to fail in order to help better learn the material.
