Last year was such an awesome experience and we’re taking some of the stresses out of the equation this year and bringing more of our magic to this huge market! We’re so stoked to start preparing for the 2026 Vegan Asian Market by We’re bringing more of the foods you’ve come to love at events this year and also focusing on a variety of other items like our sauces, kimchi and chili oil! We’ll also have some frozen available for purchase.

We had such a great Mother’s Day weekend! Thank you to everybody coming out to celebrate the women that make our lives and make our lives special. We were so happy to bring yall our special Filipinx Brunch, we’re gonna try to pop it up on weekends so keep an eye out for announcements. As the weather gets nicer and nicer we got some plans in the works for our outside areas; markets, events, garden bar, street food bites! We’re small but mighty and can’t wait to share this summer with yall 🐰🌈💕

We had a couple set backs this week for our Mother’s Day brunch so we are only serving this Filipinx Brunch Menu this Saturday and Sunday until 3pm for the time being. Here is one of our featured dishes we’re really stoked about; Tocilog, our house cured burdock soy meat, marinated then grilled, garlic fried rice, tofu soft scramble served with atsara pickles and topped with green onions. Our silog specialist brought this dish to life in the kitchen and again we’ve Veganized another meaty nostalgic dish so our cuisine and food traditions create compassionate, creative and cholesterol-free future.

We’re launching our Filipinx remix brunch this Mother’s Day weekend! We already serve brunch all day erryday, sharing dimsum and tea with family and friends? That’s Yumcha! Our chefs are stepping it up and bringing rotating silogs, gluten free mochi waffles and more! Most of the brunch menu (like most of our food) is gluten free! Served until 3pm or when we sell out starting Friday.
We were honored not only to provide some food for Qing Ming Tomb Sweeping for Block 14 Lone Fir Cemetery but also were present during the public apology from Multnomah Portland Commissioners to those still at rest in the unmarked graves of Chinese and Asian diaspora of the 1800’s and early 1900’s and the Chinese Community of Portland for burial negligence, disturbing burial sites for construction over graves and the many years of non acknowledgment. These humans deserve to be honored every year through respectful customs and our hearts are touched by this gathering to bring to light the history just “across the street”. We hope this will bring more awareness of the history we hold in Portland and the histories we create moving forward. Thank you to the Lone For Cemetery Foundation and the Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery for organizing this gathering.

We are providing our food for this gathering this Saturday 11am-1pm at the Lone Fir Cemetery (Lone Fir Cemetery Foundation) Block 14. For those that are unaware, Block 14 of Lone Fir Cemetery contained the remains of over eleven hundred unnamed remains, unmarked graves of Chinese people from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. In 1928 and 1941, over 800 of these bodies were disinterred and returned to China for reburial. Part of Block 14 lay under the parking lot of the Morrison building. LFCF organized with Multnomah County Commission for an official announcement of creation of a memorial garden and a formal apology to those at rest and our communities; a rare moment of acknowledgment, healing and connection across generations and communities. Registration is open for attendance, please bring respect and remembrance.

April fools jokes aside, how delicious would Sweet Durian Rangoons be? It would honestly fit in with our upcoming Filipino Brunch fare! you might have just accidentally inspired something! 🤩

We switched our salt and pepper dish from our mushroom squid to bui tofu! We ran out of our specially manufactured mycelium product but the S&P tofu is a bigger portion and the same price! Crunchy, airy and aromatic! We are working on launching some brunch fare for earlier in the day this upcoming week; think wild banana mochi waffles, breakfast gua bao, potato adobo.

We haven’t raised our prices in two years. We can’t keep up, our costs have gone up incredibly starting with tariffs raising prices, disrupting availability or closing sectors of the industry that can’t afford the punishing taxes. A tub of “heart healthy” frying oil has doubled in price in two years! We will do what we can to stay in business even if that means having to raise some prices by a couple dollars. We have tried staying as affordable as possible through the years, keeping in mind that our food is handmade in house, utilizing specialty ingredients some of which are exclusive to us, a cuisine that is rarely found vegan. We want to keep showing up for y’all, we want to keep going. But we gotta keep our doors open, our people paid a livable wage (what does that mean anymore?) and keep serving y’all delicious, vegan dim sum! Thank you for the support, smiles and sweet compliments.
Here is a blessing from the cleansing dance. On the eve of Lunar New Year we’re happy to reflect on a full year of serving in this space. We have had such whiplash coming into our space last year from being supported by our community and doing our best to show up for y’all through all the growing pains of settling in. Our experiment of paying folks equally a living wage as a worker collective has seen its tight moments and we’re still recovering from major distortions in pricing and availability in normal goods from tariffs. It be honest it’s tough. We see a silver lining in the horizon but there is no easy road for independent small businesses anymore and things won’t get better until we come together to take control of our economy again. Thank you for coming in, loving the food, pouring tea for each other, giving the exact criticisms that help us and trusting us with your special moments. We wish you all the abundance in the coming year, enough prosperity to share to those in need, enough luck to smile when you need it and compassion for all your neighbors including strangers and animals.
