Hey Portland!
This is Ebonee, your favorite Black esthi, aka Ms. Black Portland, and I have some amazing news!!!
As y’all know, one of my platforms .blackportland is to make beauty and wellness more accessible to Black people and marginalized communities in Portland, Oregon.
I’ve done hair and makeup at weddings and film sets while also proving services at some of the best spas in the city for over a decade. Sadly, I’m one of the few Black women in these industries in the city, if not the entire state. Therefore, I’ve seen and experienced firsthand the need to have more diverse, safe and inclusive spaces for Black people and marginalized communities, especially in a city like Portland, which is one of the whitest cities in America.
So I’m very excited to announce that I’m officially opening a spa and beauty studio called Ebonee Beauty PDX!! Services will range from sugaring hair removal to makeup artistry. This space welcomes and celebrates the beauty of all shades.
My books are now OPEN and I’m ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. Booking online is available via the link in my bio. More details are coming soon!
Sadly, this means that I will be leaving The Sugar Mama. My last day is June 7th. Special thanks to for a wonderful experience in my career that is sadly, very rare in this industry. Thank you so much Krystal for the beautiful space that you have created for the Portland community. You are a true inspiration and you are so loved & appreciated, thank you for all that you do!
Please shop at local & Black owned businesses! We need support now more than ever.
For ways to support me and my platform, please share this post, tag businesses for collabs, donate to GoFund Me and book with me!
For collabs & booking, please follow me .blackportland Email at [email protected]
THANK YOU 💖

This spring has felt like rebirth or renewal for me.
Idk about yall but omg, my life has been hectic in the best way 🤯
I’m in the process of moving and I’ll be living solo for the first time 😱 I love my roomies but I’m so ready 😅
I’m also officially a pageant queen representing one of the best cities and so far, I’ve raised over $500 to make beauty & wellness more accessible to Black people & marginalized communities in Portland, Oregon. If you want to offer support & learn more about my platform, please follow me .blackportland
I’m seeking sponsors who’d be willing to donate and/or collaborate with me on this endeavor. For all booking and inquiries, please DM me .blackportland OR email me at [email protected]
Thank you so much for your love and support!
Please share & tag so we can make wellness more accessible to marginalized communities in PDX.

RIP to Spirit Airlines 🕊️
What is even happening right now?!
It’s my understanding that Americans across the country are doing some really cool s**t and pooling their resources together to bring back a community led airline .0
If we can pull this off, imagine what else we can accomplish…
From a bad economy to an even worse job market, it feels like the end of affordability whether it be airline fare, concerts, food, gas prices…everything is getting really expensive.
The struggle is real out here so here are some FREE activities to do in PDX this summer:
- Visit local parks in your neighborhood
FREE movies, comedy, opera and more at Portland Parks.
You could also do picnics, basketball, baseball and so many other outdoor activities.
- Visit your local library
From events to classes, the library has a TON of activities and resources available to the community. You can also host events there!
- Roadtrip to the coast or wine country!
Shuttle buses are available but idk the details so please share in the comments.
- Check out street festivals like First Thursday in the Pearl District, Last Thursday on Alberta St, etc.
- Bring a buddy & attend a rally
Whether it be protesting ICE, Gaza, the corruption within this administration, etc. make your voice heard and show up for your community.
For other Portland events and activities, please follow me .blackportland

This is what my experience has been like being back on the dating apps 🫣
- Matched with a potential love scammer
- Matched with a hobosexual
- Matched with a man who I later found out was still married (ongoing divorce) living at home with his wife & kids
- An overwhelming number of indecisive men who do not know what they want on a dating app
- Some who refuse to divulge basic information about themselves such as their NAME, what they do for a living, etc.
- Men posting gross or graphic photos that nobody wants to see (ex: injuries)
- Dudes altering their images with AI
- Quite a bit of conservative men under the guise of being “not political”
This doesn’t include creepy men, being ghosted and everything else.
Like are y’all, ok?
I think it might be time for me to take another break from the apps ✌🏾
Single Ladies, if you’re on dating apps like Hinge, please share your experience in the comments.

A question for single cis straight men who are actively dating…what happened to yearning?
To romance?
Like some many of y’all done lost the plot.
Men that I’ve encountered in today’s dating scene won’t even open the door for a lady. Won’t pay for the meal. Men who don’t know how, or even care, to reciprocate in good conversation. And yet so many of y’all have the AUDACITY to expect women to go home with you?!
WILD behavior.
Myself and so many other women today are going on solo dates and/or out with our girls living our BEST lives without you and it’s a shame because we want to include y’all but the way we’ve been treated, it is that bad.
I miss when men in R&B music videos sang in the rain. Pleaded for their girl to come back to them.
Praised their partner who chose to love them.
Like I want the 90s love I was promised 😩
Women just want to be treated well and be free to live like the Queens that we are which in turn will benefit their partner, family and community.
Is that asking for too much?
