The Trail Blazers were ready to go ALL IN for Giannis Antetokounmpo. π³
According to Jake Fischer, Portland was prepared to give up as many as four years of first-round draft capital at the trade deadline in an attempt to land the Bucks superstar.
The craziest part?
They were willing to do it without knowing whether Giannis would sign a long-term extension.
However, that aggressive pursuit has reportedly cooled, as Portland has since been led to believe that an extension would be unlikely.
A massive gamble that never happened. π

For decades, the Knicks held one of the longest championship droughts in NBA history.
Not anymore. π
π 73 years β Kings (1951-present)
π 68 years β Hawks (1958-present)
π 53 years β Knicks (1973-2026)
π 49 years β Portland Trail Blazers (1977-present)
With New York finally ending its drought, Portland now owns the 3rd active championship drought in the NBA.
But if the Knicks taught us anything, it's that no drought lasts forever.
The Blazers have a young core, exciting talent, and a fanbase that's waited nearly half a century.
We're next.

Tiago Splitter is now headed to Chicago,
Less than a year after he took over a team in shambles after losing their previous coach to a scandal.
Splitter had an amazing season as interim coach of the Blazers,
Helping lead the team to their first playoff appearance in 5 years.
He helped Deni Avdija blossom into an All-Star.
Blazers fans would have loved to bring Splitter back in the fold,
But the business of the game is cutthroat,
And you take whatever opportunity you can get.
Best of luck in Chicago, Coach T!

Shaedon Sharpe has all the tools to make an All-Star leap next season.
The athleticism, scoring ability, shot creation, and star potential have never been in question.
The biggest hurdle has simply been staying on the floor.
When healthy, Sharpe has shown flashes of being one of the most exciting young guards in the league and a player capable of taking over games.
If he can put together a full season and stay healthy, don't be surprised if he's in the All-Star conversation sooner rather than later.
