This is such an important conversation!

Over the last year and a half, immigration in the US has been completely upended. With refugee resettlement effectively closed and mass deportation instituted throughout the country, it’s immigrant families that are getting the brunt of these policies. In this episode, Brandon Stiver interviews Matthew Soerens from World Relief about US immigration policies, refugee resettlement, family separation, and biblical perspectives on immigration. They explore the impact of current policies, stories of affected families, and how the church can respond biblically and practically.

We just wrapped up the last class of the term focused on community development. It's always an awkward feeling being on this side of the term, missing the learning community we form in class, yet grateful we made progress and students have completed their projects. Seven-week terms are no small feat - for students or profs!

Summer terms start today! We have two courses this summer, Fieldwork Project and Integrative Capstone. Here we go!

While all of our classes are online, students meet with their professors on a weekly basis for time together to discuss what they are learning and applying in real time to their work and ministries. Our classes combine the flexibility of online work with the relational importance of a learning community. You really can have both flexible schedules while ensuring relationships!

“John Perkins stood with ideas and action and the kind of moral authority that can come only from testing those ideas with his life—standing for something true and loving something real." - Russell Moore

“John Perkins stood with ideas and action and the kind of moral authority that can come only from testing those ideas with his life—standing for something true and loving something real,” writes Russell Moore.

“That’s the kind of witness Perkins was. And that’s what made him seem so strange in this juvenile, demoralized time.”

Now jumping into session 2 of our Spring semester with Economic and Community Development and Human Rights and Public Policy courses. As you can imagine, there are a lot of critical topics to discuss right now. Never a dull moment in a MAGDJ course!
