Chloe Benjamin will be at Ritual Dyes on Thursday of Sacred Sheep weekend! Ritual Dyes, Chloe Benjamin, and Sari Nordlund have teamed up to celebrate the release of Chloe’s newest book, Under Story. As a knitter herself, Chloe has woven fiber arts into her newest release. Ritual Dyes dyed up some yarn inspired by the story, and Sari has designed two stunning patterns to go along with them.

To celebrate Under Story and the end of the KAL, Chloe is coming to the Ritual Dyes shop for a reading, signing, and meet up. On Thursday, November 5th from 5-7pm, join us in the Ritual Dyes classroom space to hear Chloe read an excerpt of Under Story, meet other makers, peruse yarn, and snag a photo of your completed project. We’re going to have some snacks and refreshments as well as a special photo booth to take some pictures for your completed projects.

This will be a ticketed event! The cost of your ticket covers your copy of Under Story, and you will have the opportunity to have it signed by Chloe at the event. If you already have your book, don’t worry - we’ll have a ticket option for you as well!

We’ve worked with Ken • Reiko Co. for years at this point and her work never gets less exciting. Ken’s eye for color and fun shows in every piece she makes! She’ll be at the shop this Sunday teaching a workshop using TILA beads. Each student will learn how to make their very own hair clip or brooch! Registration is still open, but there’s only a few seats left for all you latecomers. See you Sunday!

It’s been a while since we got a new yarn in… welcome Païssa!

Païssa is a newer addition to the Xolla yarn lineup that released earlier this year. Made from a blend of Catalan wool and Spanish merino, Païssa is a sport weight yarn, with the durability and softness of the two breeds. Like all Xolla yarns, Païssa is spun in family-run mills in Spain, preserving Catalonia’s wool heritage.

Païssa is gorgeously rustic, with deep, lovely colors and a stunning finish. We got this a little bit ago and have been so excited to play with it for fall.

Alongside Païssa, we also carry Pastoreta and Bauma, Xolla’s fi*****ng and DK weight bases. They have recently been a shop fav for a variety of projects. Check out all of the Xolla bases we have in the shop and online!

Soak up the last rays of summer this Saturday with Rachael Sokol! She’ll be walking you through the cast-on and first rows of the Shelli Candane. Class is from 10am-12pm - registration open now!

The RD team has some really from projects on the needles this week. Megan is working on a Wilde Cardigan by lilykatemakes | knitwear designer is the most perfect shaded of Matiz. Martha is also working with yarn from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar for her Samarra Vest!! It’s going to turn into her Sacred Sheep from the team project for this year. Avery has joined the Under Story knit-a-long with a shawl in Marona Smoke, and is also working with some very special San Juan Woolworks yarn for a Traveller Hoodie.

Fall is just around the corner! It’s been rainy the last few days in Portland and we’ve all taken the opportunity to get cozy and build our fall crafting queues. In doing so, we noticed that nearly everyone in the shop had a pointelle project on their list, and in true RD fashion, we’re turning it into a make-a-long! There’s been so many beautiful lacey pointelle patterns coming out recently - and for good reason. Pointelle fabric has been dominating the fashion world recently and it’s a trend we can wholeheartedly get behind.

The Pointelle-A-Long is as customizable as you want it to be. There are only two rules: use yarn from Ritual Dyes, and make something with pointelle features! Featured here are the Marielle Blouse by Meredith 🐻 and the Petite Pointelle by Jessie Maed Designs We’ve also put together a bundle of patterns on Ravelry for you to get some inspo, but choose whatever inspires you. The make-a-long will run until December 20th. We’ll celebrate the end with a Crafternoon at the PAM CUT // Center for an Untold Tomorrow Tomorrow Theater!
