Bissell Brothers
Bissell Brothers was founded in 2013 to create and sell the hoppy ales that put us on the map. Fresh beer in Portland, Maine.
Since then we've expanded, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to brewing style-defining craft beer with high-quality local ingredients.

Doomie, Dooms, Monsieur Dumais, Eric Bana, Doomsday, or simply, Eric. Whatever you call him, we’re rejoicing having Eric Dumais on our team for 10 full years!
Eric was actually the first perfect stranger we ever hired. With our impending move to Thompsons Point, we were in need of production help – but realized we’d run out of friends. At the time, it was scary to take a chance on an outsider (much less one from New Hampshire); but he interviewed well, had a great beard, and experience at Smuttynose, so we decided to hire him as our first ever cellarman.
The absurdity of thinking we were rolling the dice with Eric cannot be overstated. Right away, he proved to be one of the most sure things on this Earth. His willingness to do anything with a smile was quickly exploited, and within his first couple years at Bissell he promptly became highly capable in all facets of production. In those early years, he endured a breed of chaos specific to a young brewery: avoidably long days, broken equipment, missed orders, and recipes scrawled on notebook paper. The production environment that our team now operates within (robust SOPs, concise inventory, proper safety protocols, and general cohesion) is largely attributed to the quiet drive and boundless patience of Dooms.
For reasons obvious to anyone that’s worked with him, Eric was promoted to Director of Brewing Operations. In this role he’s continued to optimize our production operation and maximize our capacity, all while perpetually raising the bar for both our quality and safety standards. More importantly, he’s grown into an absolutely exceptional leader. Eric’s people-first management style and steadfast commitment to bettering his team through honest communication, open dialogue, resolute calm, and situational sensitivity have had a profound impact on Bissell Brothers’ culture. His influence has permeated far beyond the production environment, and he’s constantly referenced as an example for what our company values most in its Directors.
At the end of the day, Eric is simply one of the best humans you’re ever going to encounter. On top of the myriad ways he continues to help our company and its people thrive, he’s an A+ dog dad, maintains a secret identity as an accomplished home renovator, and possesses an eye for bargains that is deeply endearing. He deserves all the Baltic Porter and vintage mopeds that money can buy, and we’re forever indebted for the privilege of having him in our lives.
We love you, Doomie. Please never frig right off.

Idk about the other guys, but we’ve been zesting since 2016 🍋🟩
10 years of Dangol!! This American lager is loaded with (literally) buckets of house-zested lime. Citrusy New Zealand hops and loads of Maine-grown corn are the perfect accompaniments in this nod to a beer-that-must-not-be-named, blasted thru a craft beer filter.
