There is a special kind of magic that happens when makeup becomes part of a performance. Part of our job as makeup artists is to get inside the brilliant minds, space of other creatives and help them articulate a message without the use of words. This is why we love to build relationships with our community and get to know them on a deeper level.

The result is our work and contribution is so much richer and fulfilling when it's a visual thesis, a living painted sculpture of an important message or feeling.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT!

Portland -based designer and a community friend, Alejandra Oyervides, the genius behind AleO invited us to design a makeup look that could stand as part of her artistic language in an art gallery space. We have had the pleasure of working together many times, but this time her presentation was to launch an important artist talk she has coming up at .xyz. A true collaboration of concept and craft.

Naturally, we were delighted to jump right in after we saw the beautiful Imperfecta gallery space and learned more about Aleo's latest collection and the message.

We can't wait to share our inspiration. How the letter A took on a new meaning in this presentation. It's long been a mark historical symbol but last night it stood for a Mexican woman claiming her voice, her vision, her message through art.

There's something magical about this time of year, the way cherry blossoms remind us to pause, breathe, and get outside to let Beauty renew our spirit.

Nature has a gentle way of whispering that Joy is still here, blooming quietly all around us, even if only fot a moment.

We are certainly not blind to the heaviness in the world right now, But for our own sanity, we must all remember to pause and take a deep breath.

We would like to introduce you to Alina, an incredibly gifted and talented creative. She is a triple threat in design, photography, accessories and art. She owns her own apparel rental company.

Working with Alina is always a gift. She told us that our winter wonderland shoot last year helped propel her career forward in a magazine publication. She returned this season wanting to create more winter magic with the Event Cosmetics team.

Bex and I had an amazing day creating art with her at our downtown Studio again this year with one of our favorite models .

We can't wait to share how we made Mt Hood shimmer together.

I have to say, it is always a great feeling when another artist genuinely values our artistry and intention behind what we do, it fuels us just as much as it fuels them. Our hope is that the beauty we create in these moments also reaches you, and offers a little lift, a smile, and a little light when we need it most.
