"So many women inspire me. But I think the first time I was ever blown away by a woman's life and story was when I first learned about Teddy Roosevelt's daughter, Alice. She rebelled against what society thought a woman could and should be, perhaps best summed up by her father's words 'I can either run the country or I can attend to Alice, but I cannot possibly do both.' She also had a pet snake named Emily Spinach, which is a spectacular name for a pet." - Kacey, Xico General Manager (she/her)

"Sandra Pankhurst has been an inspiration to me for a few years now. She was a motivational speaker and advocate who was known for always discussing with a candid openness about her many careers - as a drag queen, s*x worker, funeral director, and of her transition in the 1980s. Though life kept trying to knock her down, she never relinquished. If you're interested - check out her pseudo-biography The Trauma Cleaner by Sarah Krasnostein!" - Brandi, Xico FOH Manager (she/they)

Happy International Women's Day! Today we honor the women who make Xico what it is! Thank you to the women who have perfected and passed down family recipes for generations, to the women in professional kitchens showing us that the culinary world isn't a boys club, and to our own female-led ownership and leadership. We couldn't do it without any of you.
