This week at the City Council Meeting, the City of Portland officially issued a proclamation recognizing May 8, 2026 as Provider Appreciation Day, signed by Mayor Mark Dion.

This recognition was requested by our Director Sherryl Eastman, to honor ALL of the dedicated child care providers, teachers, and educators who show up every day to care for our children.💛

A well-deserved moment of appreciation for the people who make such a lasting impact in our community.🌟

We had our Spring Carnival this past weekend and it was a blast!🎪🎟️

So many smiles, so much laughter, fun games, and plenty of sweet treats! It was the best getting to see everyone together and having so much fun.💛

We’re so lucky to have such an amazing group of families. Thanks to everyone who came and made it so special!🎡✨

Last week our Puffin classroom finished learning the alphabet and celebrated with an ABC’s party!🎉 They also enjoyed a special Chicka Chicka Boom Boom themed snack!🌴🤩

Free Lead Screening & Family Resource Event - April 6

Families are invited to attend a FREE Maternal Mobile Health Clinic on Monday, April 6 from 1–4PM at St. Hyacinth’s Church (268 Bridge St, Westbrook).

From 1–3PM, Portland Public Health will be offering free blood lead screenings.
Testing is especially encouraged for families living in homes built before 1978 and:
• Are under 6 years old
• Are pregnant
• Are new to the U.S. (have arrived within the last year)
• Work in construction or another occupation where lead exposure might occur
• Don’t currently have a primary care provider

Additional free services include help enrolling in MaineCare, SNAP, and WIC, basic health screenings, referrals, diapers, and other family resources.

No appointment is needed. We encourage our families to take advantage of this important community resource and share with others who may benefit. 💛
