This past week, we were given our assignment on how to ensure a prosperous economic future. As a local public servant on the Portland City Council, I was encouraged by the ongoing vision articulated by our two U.S. Senators, Sen. Ron Wyden & Sen. Jeff Merkley. Congresswoman Janelle Bynum & Maxine Dexter, & Suzzanne Bonnamici were all in attendance. I would like to thank Senator Wyden for his insightful leadership, along with Duncan Wyse, in bringing us together to develop a strategic plan that involves businesses and all levels of government for the past 23 years. Outstanding!

At KairosPDX this morning with my grandaughter Ada. I attending her 2nd grade presentation of Ruby Bridges at their morning assembly. (Ruby Bridges is known for her pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement. In 1960, at just six years old, she became the first African American to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South, specifically William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans. Despite facing significant resistance, hostility, and protests from some community members, Ruby attended school daily under federal marshals’ protection).
