Deep End Theater is committed to exploring the theatrical road less traveled with a focus on daring improvisational theater, devised and immersive theater.
At Deep End we teach and employ a practice called Sound Improv. Sound Improv is a unique approach to improvisation theater that is grounded in acting, performance savvy and stage craft. In this case the word "sound" represents structural integrity as the work is built on the foundation of seven pillars of skill.
One we wanted to highlight today is Curiosity over judgement!
These pillars support engaging and dynamic theatrical improvisation that feels like scripted theater. Sound improv respects improvisation as an art and a craft worthy of thorough study and dedicated performance.

Relations closed this past weekend, this show was such a pleasure to create. We wanted to share a message from one of our audience members. Thanks to everyone who came out and left kind words for us! It’s always special to explore what’s possible in improv!
“I see a lot of improv and so I know how often I am gambling with my evening when seeing a show. Deep End upheld their reputation of being an honest, heart led, and meaningful company. I brought my partner as well as my brother to see a show about family and relationships, and boy did they deliver. The actors were funny, poignant, and talented. After a night of laughter as well as tears, we sat in the chairs of this intimate house, quiet for a moment, and then said, “more improv needs to try for this.”
