Extension is key for QBs! 🔑
Yes extension is referring to the amount of elbow extension at release…. However, you must look at the entire arm and not just the elbow.
During the acceleration phase, the shoulder joint should drive the main amount of velocity for the arm resulting in optimal extension at release.
What I look at is shoulder internal rotation, shoulder horizontal adduction, and elbow extension. I like to see majority of velocity come from the shoulder movements and not from the elbow.
