Hello friends! Help me launch a brand new Songwriting Experience / YOU ARE THE SONG!

Over the last 3 years I’ve been developing and beta-testing a transformational “songwriting experience” called YOU ARE THE SONG. I’ve worked with several groups so far, including teens at Harmony Academy - a high school for kids in recovery from addiction. This Spring, in partnership with Portland State University, I’m bringing YOU ARE THE SONG to incarcerated women at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. Joining me will be a team of acclaimed songwriters, and we are fundraising $15k for this pilot program and would love your help!

YOU ARE THE SONG is an 8-week “songwriting experience” that leads participants through the intuitive process of gut-to-lyric and speech-to-melody composition to create, record, perform and release an original song! Accessible to non-musicians and musicians alike, this program expands courage and self-expression, empowering individuals to discover and trust their own creative authority as lyricists and songwriters.

My goal is to offer this program to marginalized communities throughout Oregon and beyond, and I’m beginning the process of creating a non-profit. If you are interested in helping us grow, or have ideas of communities that would benefit, please reach out!

I’m honored to be part of an amazing show tomorrow night at .theatre ! Bring Out Your Dead is a celebration of musical icons who died in 2025 and left an enduring legacy. This show will honor their influence and the impact they had on music, culture in our lives.

Recorded and co-produced with at Scenic Burrows, the track centers around the piano - featuring backing vocals from two of my favorite people - Tarshene Watkins and Jeannie Wiggins, my long ago bandmates from Motown funk supergroup Body and Soul.

Adding melodic indie-rock prowess is my acoustic quartet with on accordion, on upright bass, on drums + a stunning woodwind/horn arrangement by world renowned composer !
