In solidarity with today at their practice picket. I hope that PSU administration leadership agrees to a fair contract, and commit to continuing to stand with working people long after we know the final results of this election.

I finally got around to dropping off my ballot!
(I took the picture after marking only myself as #1, but I did fill out all 6 spots and encourage you to do so too!)
The data is clear—we need a new vision of holistic, preventative community safety, not more of the same.
I support Sameer Kanal because..... In the words of new friends, old friends and family. (Part I)

As a Small Donor Elections program participant, I’m proud to have the most donors in the district since I joined the race in May 2024 and the second-most donors of any City Council candidate since I joined. I’m also proud that our people-powered campaign’s average donation is $30. Will you chip in $30 to help us fund the home stretch of this campaign? Community safety is a society where everyone has their needs met. My priorities start with Safe Routes to School and include protecting and expanding Portland Street Response and fully funding violence prevention. We need to activate public spaces in our city to leave less space where crime can flourish. It’s preventative, holistic, and cost-efficient. We also need to lower 911 response times to achieve national benchmarks.
I am the only candidate for City Council in any district who has actually worked on and with Portland Street Response to help solve some of its funding issues.
Further, I'm an honored to be the only candidate in District 2 to have the endorsement of all three of the following: workers at Portland Street Response (PROTEC17), the City Councilmember who initiated the program (Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty), and its primary advocates in the community (Friends of Portland Street Response).
