A brand new Indian Mughal with very modern coloring is on the drying deck after varnish this morning. Somehow this figure is both elegant and playful. I love his bright cobalt skirt, although in the 14th and 15th centuries of peak Mughal painting, it is unlikely such a large area would have been painted in precious lapis lazuli. A long weekend to Charleston renewed my obsession for oyster plates 🦪
I have a modest group of white oyster plates from France and Cape Cod ~
but oh! the wider world of beautiful things includes extraordinary 19th century antique oyster plates🦪
When I’m inspired by something,
I think to paint … 🎨
These 5 paintings are my first attempt at these decorative, culinary, historic objects. They are unframed originals ~ mix and match for kitchen, pantry, dining room
They will debut in Seattle at the end of the month ~ come see me at Lucie’s Round Up available May 28 - June 26, Seattle Design Center 🦪

I am creating a series of paintings to show the special beauty of door knockers ~ heurtoirs ~ on Paris doors
This is such a Parisian subject ~ although ’just a detail’ and a practical detail at that ~ they are inexpressibly crafted with personality and craftsmanship.
I could use your opinion! Should I paint the door color behind the door knocker ~ or leave on a neutral background ?
I am thinking of painting a blue background, but cannot decide. Let me know please 🚪

So honored to collaborate with Olivier de Sercey, luxury French heritage stationer since 1870.
Their catalog of venerable individuals and businesses served since 1870 is one of those archives you happily lose time in. It’s just different in France ⚜️
Many of my American collectors visit the boutique on Rue du Bac in the 7th arr. I love when they share their visit with me ⚜️ Sometime I will do a reel of all those ‘I was there’ photos !
•If I were planning a winter wedding in the Alps next year
•Blue Toile ~ is anything better ?
•Red Toile ~ maybe red toile
•Engraved monogram stationary
