September is both Global Caring Month and Hunger Action Month, making it the perfect time to take action and help make sure our neighbors have access to nutritious food.

Have extra produce from your garden? You can bring fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs directly to SnowCap! If you have nonperishable food to donate, you can drop it off at Gresham Ford through the end of September.

💙 September 15 is National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day.

Clothing is more than just fabric. It provides dignity, confidence, comfort, and the ability to fully participate in school, work, and everyday life. Across the country, clothing banks report a dramatic increase in the number of children and families needing clothing assistance, driven largely by rising costs of living. The report found a median increase of 78% in children needing clothing support over the last five years.

At SnowCap, we see firsthand how access to quality clothing can make a difference for our neighbors. We also know that donated clothing alone doesn't always meet every need. Essentials such as shoes, socks, underwear, coats, and hard-to-find sizes are often in short supply and must be purchased to fill the gaps. Clothing banks across the country report that purchasing new items is frequently necessary to meet community needs.

While community donations are the heart of our Clothing Program, monetary donations help us purchase essential items and hard-to-find sizes when donations fall short, ensuring we can meet our community's greatest needs.
