This Etsy seller is doing such meaningful work. Drinking coffee out of this mug would remind me of all the beauty and love in the world — every. single. day. Curing cancer, cleaning office buildings, making mugs that inspire appreciation: it all matters. You matter.

Sometimes you have to stop and smell the oregano…

Clients wanted to accommodate multiple users in this tight space while honoring the 1940s/50s architecture. The space is compartmentalized with no way to change that. A double oven range, in-counter drain rack, and Galley Workstation support side-by-side chefs. Clients are drawn to mustard yellow, but may not be for the lifespan of the cabinets, so it's used as an accent. Retro k***s, a curved end cabinet, scalloped valence, and tile in the cooking niche connect the present with the past. I've had so much fun developing this kitchen. Can't wait to see where it goes from here :)

Buster loves to be comfortable. So it’s no coincidence that he’s standing here. Underneath these layered (washable) rugs is a comfort mat. Hubby loves how it feels. I don’t love how it looks. We’re test driving this compromise.

Getting there…

I’ve posted about this midwestern barn project before. But I’ve not shared the exterior. So much of this beautiful design is a respectful nod to the existing barn on this once-working farm. I will share details later when we have professional photography. But here are a few candids from the client (with permission). Thanks to the architect, client, and my friends .imperia for a wonderful collaboration. It’s a pleasure and an honor to work on creative projects like this.

It’s been ages since I’ve had a client that wanted natural stone counters. This baby’s gonna be the star of the show!
