Due to a callback last week I had to move my headshot session and my Makeup Artist is no longer available.

I'm looking for an hour of someone's time at Industry City tomorrow. from 1130am-1230pm. Anyone got recommendations / referrals, please send them my way!

This is Jenni.

Jenni is my best friend and companion in this life. She is the kindest, funniest person I know, and she is always up for seeing an adventure through to the end. She will stop everything on a dime to help her community. She is the most loyal, steadfast, and caring friend you could ask for, and absolutely everyone in her orbit will tell you so…repeatedly and often.

This is Milo. Three months ago, Milo came into our lives and made us parents. I cannot begin to describe to you the euphoria of seeing Jenni with Milo. Every trait, accolade, and superlative given to her by her friends transfers tenfold to Milo. She is his best friend, his greatest advocate, and truly an incredible Mom.

I am so proud to be her partner and it brings me so much goddamned joy to say, for the first time for the rest of our lives, Happy Mother’s Day. Milo and I love you just so much. :)

Today sucked.

I had planned a day full of exciting things that I could do in your honor and push back against the annual wave of darkness that hits me on May 8.

Then, earlier this week, I got a callback. For a show I love (and you loved). So I moved everything off today determined to go give my best at this audition. I prepped the sides, worked on the music, and walked in ready to go.

I got typed out after the movement call, never made it to sides and songs.

That wave of darkness hit me like a ton of bricks. All of the fun, exciting things I had planned for today to stave it off were no longer there as a blocker. All I had was the sadness.

But Jenni and I went out to dinner and I got to hold your grandson, Milo, and tell him about you. He’s nearly three months old now and I tell him so many stories about Grandma Debba. I know you wanted to *just* be “Debba” as your grandmother name but as I told you then “that’s stupid.” G.D. will have to suffice ;).

It’s been 9 years since you left. 9 years of memories I can’t share with you. This year hits harder, because it’s the first of all the years I can’t share your grandson with you. That sucks.

Like I said, today sucks.

I love you with all of my heart. Rest in Peace.

This beautiful woman is my mother, Debba Curtis. Today she would have turned 70 years old. As my aunt put it, "she would have been a sassy, brassy, and wise septuagenarian."

Some years this day hits like a fist, others it passes in quiet contemplation. This year I'm hard at work on the most exciting project I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of (and no I can't talk about it yet, hopefully soon).

I can't think of a better way to honor my Mom's wishes for me than to be living out my dreams.

I love you so much, Mama. Rest easy.
