Our Next Meeting-Summer Brunch Potluck!

Interested in learning how our communities can connect and get involved? We want to begin planning our precinct town halls! We thought a great way for us to have this discussion is with food!

It’s a potluck, so bring your best brunch dish to share as we plan the roll out of our precinct town halls. This meeting will be fully in-person with no remote option this time. We will be sure to get lots of notes and send a recap out for those unable to attend!

The Breasts of Tiresias is part musical, part opera, part immersive, feminist, surrealist, gender-expansive romp. Performed as a special English translation, two piano-version arranged by Benjamin Britten and Viola Tunnard, shows will take place in the Aura nightclub in downtown Portland. Portland Democratic Caucus · Maine Dems Join us for the 2024 Democratic Caucuses! The Maine Democratic Party Caucuses are gatherings of Democratic friends and neighbors from every town across Maine. Caucuses serve many purposes including selecting delegates to the MDP State Convention, electing local committee leaders, hearing from local....

For anyone who missed it: We had a great discussion on Question 3 at our September General Meeting last Sunday! Many thanks to our panelists, Lucy Hochshcartner (Deputy Campaign Manager for Pine Tree Power) and Jim Cohen (from Maine Affordable Energy Coalition). Watch the recording of the panel below!

In the end, PDCC voted not to endorse in either the "yes" or "no" position. It was an informative discussion all around! Thanks to all who attended and participated in the conversation.

PDCC ANNOUNCES A "NO ON A" ENDORSEMENT

Following our panel discussion on Sunday evening, PDCC voted strongly in favor of endorsing a "No on A" position on the June 13th ballot.

Thank you to all who attended, and thanks especially to our panelists! The discussion was lively, and it was fantastic to see the way our members turned out to have this important conversation. I am grateful for the spirit of democracy that inspires us to grapple, as individuals and as an organization, with complicated (and even divisive) issues, and to work through them to take a stance as a group.

If you attended Sunday's meeting and got something out of it, we would love to encourage you to attend an upcoming meeting and continue engaging with the Portland Dems! Our next General Meeting will be Sunday, July 9th - and stay tuned for other events that may pop up throughout the summer.
