The Deep End Club

I've been in lock-down since March, decided it was time to take a swim in the sea, even though it's currently forbidden to go on the Beach. I went to a very secret secluded spot near my house, well 15 minutes drive. The water was cold but so refreshing and the beach was almost deserted. Three or four people way off in the distance. Getting out of the water I saw a police car pulling up on the nearby road, and I knew I was in for it. To cut a long story short, expecting a fine through the mail box any day now. Do I regret it? Hell no. I understand this measure is to avoid having flocks of tourists coming into town. But I am a local resident, and this stretch of coast is my back door, and I like to swim. Well there was no information posted up anywhere so I wasn't to know. The policeman told me I can swim between 6AM and 9AM... SO THATS NOW MY PLAN... each morning the sky is blue...

Couldn't persuade anyone to join me for a swim in Maine... But it does need to be done.. Raining, small waves, and sea w**d everywhere, not MY favorite conditions. Still here goes...

A deep end club meeting was called in Coopers Town. And the lake was at a perfect temperature...

I am calling a slightly fresher meeting today in Portland Maine. The ocean is calling!!

Enjoyed a morning swim with Diane and Thierry. Weather was perfect, low wind, and the sea was clear. Tomorrow is the big 1st of January Deep End Club Meet, this year on the Plage of the Roche Noire, Trouville Sur Mer at midday. Tune in for more photos and info.... Happy New Year

Deep End Club 2016 at Trouville/Deauville. We decided to do two swims this year. First will be tomorrow around midday at Benerville sure mer. Water temperature between 12 and 13 degrees C. More news to follow.. . :~))

Good news, the gale force winds have calmed down, the sky is blue. It is all looking good for the Deep End Club 2015 swim at Erbalunga, Corsica. See you in the bluest emerald sea in the world around midday. I cannot wait. Pete Thomas Wallance teodori Ulysse

Current sea temperature in Deauville is around 10C. Should be quite tough going tomorrow, even for the President. The wind is up which makes it feeling even colder. Lovely..
