CONIUM is a small press. We publish innovative writing. Take risks. Get weird with it. The Conium Review publishes innovative writing. Make it weird.
We lean toward unconventional plots, bizarre settings, and experimental language. We are especially interested in work from women, LGBTQ authors, and writers of color. We work with Submission Bombers and other groups to encourage submissions from marginalized writers. We find that marginalized writers often tell the kind of innovative stories that “mainstream” writers cannot or do not. Along with

Conium Press is open for submissions! Read our latest, "How to Love a Black Hole," for a sense of our editorial aesthetic. Particularly interested in work from historically underrepresented voices.
Manuscript length is flexible. We typically lean shorter (chapbook-length collections, a novella, etc.), but eyeing a longer book for release in 2027 or 2028 if something in the queue really stands out.
