On the last morning of our summit, I drove to the studio and realized the whole weekend had felt different. Twenty women were simply making, and it showed in the laughter, the concentration, and the curiosity around every table.
Some had been with us for years and have become skilled flower makers. Others were completely new faces. It didn’t matter.
Everyone left with a bouquet of crepe paper flowers and a few new friends.

A Berry Good Trio!
We've spent the summer building a little paper berry patch, one hoop at a time. Coloring the blackberries meant blending pencil and pastel until the branch moved from rosy tones to nearly black, the way real fruit ripens unevenly on the vine. Framed in matching 7-inch embroidery hoops, the Mounted Paper Blackberry, Blueberry, and Strawberry line up into one gallery wall. Blueberry is beginner-friendly and comes together in about an hour. These Asiatic Lilies absolutely know how to show up and make an entrance. Their sweeping petals, dramatic centers, and elegant shape give them plenty of presence without needing bold color. We are recreating that look with softly shaped petals made from crepe paper, delicate speckles, and unexpected new details.
