Oregonians for Medical Rights is leading the effort to pass House Bill 3460 to license medical ma*****na dispensaries in Oregon.
In 1998, Oregonians for Medical Rights was founded to lead the campaign to pass the original Oregon Medical Ma*****na Act. This year, OMR’s original campaign director Geoff Sugerman has teamed with Sam Chapman to fight for patient safety and access through HB 3460. The bill is sponsored by State Rep. Q: Does the new law mean existing medical ma*****na storefronts are now state-sanctioned?
A: Not yet. The Oregon Health Authority, which oversees the state’s medical ma*****na program, has until March 2014 to draft rules on security, ma*****na testing and other issues.
Medical ma*****na bill passes Oregon house, now goes to governor House Bill 3460, now headed to Gov. John Kitzhaber's desk, creates a registry of businesses that sell the drug. Patients have long sought retail access to medical cannabis, arguing the state's rules -- grow your own ma*****na or have someone do it for you -- are unrealistic.

When it comes helping patients access safe medicine from a legitimate dispensary, the implementation of rules and regulations is something we can all get behind.
Medical pot dispensaries bill would 'add a new layer to the enforcement' Oregon lawmakers approved a bill that adds dispensaries to the state’s outlets for medical ma*****na, but some critics are still not happy with the last-minute changes that caused lawmakers to pass it.

One step closer. Yesterday the House voted to concur in Senate amendments to HB 3460, making Oregon the 13th state to legalize medical ma*****na dispensaries.
