Urban Retreat is available next week! We are sad to see our current guests leave, and eager to welcome our next.

Our beloved guests for the last 7 months are moving on! Which means, the Urban Retreat is available in June.

A Portland gem, fully furnished, separate entrance, free standing cottage in a protected, thriving garden.

Minimum one month stay, we've been mainly renting to traveling professionals. Could also be a great space for someone looking to buy a house and needing somewhere to stay while they're searching and/or renovating.

Just opened up dates until the end of October!

We're looking at renting to traveling nurses through the colder season. If you are interested in dates after October, let me know, and I can open those dates up. Let me know soon, though, I'll probably start putting out feelers on traveling nurse sites pretty soon. Once it's rented longer term, your dates won't be available!

We've been so grateful to have a couple of traveling nurses stay with us longer term through the winter and spring. They'll be moving home to Wisconsin in June, so the Urban Retreat will be available again for shorter term stays.

A new feature, in the "Keep Portland Weird" vein — we have a human sized nest in our front yard! This is an art installation created by Debbie Baxter of The Nest Project. It's her offering to the world to support healing from trauma, the nest symbolizing coming home and safety. It's surprisingly powerful, snuggling into this nest.

Jazz, our border collie mix loves it, too.

For a short time I've set our base price at $70 a night to give our previous guests, and those who "like" our page a chance to book at a discount. That's you!

Book before Friday, September 8th to take advantage of this savings. And, remember, if you reserve for a week, you receive a 15% discount, and for a month long stay that discount increases to 25%.

"A private, clean, and well-appointed cottage in a great neighborhood. The description was spot on, and the bright and cozy cottage made a great home base for our 5 day Portland vacay. Durga was a thoughtful and respectful host and made sure we were sorted out and happy while also giving us privacy and space - the perfect balancing act. The kitchen is well set up if you want to cook your own meals, but you may not because of all the great dining spots in close range. We brought our bikes and were pleasantly surprised at how easily and quickly we could get to the restaurants and watering holes on Division, Hawthorne, Alberta, Mississippi, and downtown. Mt. Tabor is right nearby and a fun destination for some walking or picnicking. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay at the retreat again."
