Red Alder Life Transitions grew out of my own personal experience.

After my parents passed away, I was left managing years of belongings, financial records, and estate-related paperwork. Although my parents were organized people, they had accumulated a great deal over the years, and some important financial documents were stolen after their deaths.

That experience taught me how important it is to organize, consolidate, preserve, and appropriately share information before a crisis occurs. Good planning can help protect both the person whose affairs are being managed and the family members or beneficiaries who may eventually need that information.

Through Red Alder, I help clients organize financial and estate documents, create understandable records for intended beneficiaries, archive important information, and coordinate the practical details that can otherwise become overwhelming.

I also work with people who are aging in place, downsizing, or struggling with clutter and household organization, including more complex hoarding situations. The goal is not judgment or simply “getting rid of things.” It is creating a safer, more manageable environment while respecting the client’s preferences, possessions, and autonomy.

I founded a new LLC a couple of months ago to begin the shift towards providing additional assistance to my older long term tax clients.

Financial organization and basis tracking of assets is an issue I’ve dealt with frequently during my career. Pre-planning in this area is critical to preserve accumulated wealth.

The October 15 tax deadline is approaching!

For most taxpayers who extended their 2025 individual income tax returns, the filing deadline is October 15, 2026.

Please remember that an extension gave you additional time to file—not additional time to pay. If you expect to owe taxes, interest and possible penalties may already be accruing.

If Clarity Tax Service is preparing your extended return, please send any remaining documents and respond to outstanding questions as soon as possible.

July is almost here!

I’m working intermittently during the summer months and only accepting new projects with a higher deposit (5K) until August. Once extension season starts in August, my deposit for new clients drops back down to 1-2K.
