Sukkot is coming - which means Portland's Sukkah in the city is back!

Sukkah in the City returns to Glisan Street, giving Portland a place to stop by, shake the lulav, grab a snack, or just hang out - open 24/7 all week long.

And on October 1, we’re taking it up a notch for the last night of Sukkot, right in the middle of the Pearl’s last First Thursday Portland of the year.

Come celebrate with live musical kumzitz, Lulav Shakes, a Bourekas & Salatim Bar, rugelach, and plenty of good people and good vibes.

Come for a few minutes or stay awhile. Shake the lulav. Grab some food. Listen to some music. Meet someone new. Experience Sukkos in the heart of Portland.

Grateful for an inspiring gathering of women in preparation for Yom Kippur. We shared meaningful conversations about prayer, deep connection, and the Oneness we can experience with God. We reflected especially on Neilah - that powerful moment as the gates are closing, reminding us that we are already inside, wrapped in connection and presence.

The Ten Days of Teshuvah, between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, are a time to pause, reflect, and return - to reconnect with who we are and who we want to be in the year ahead.

Our Sages teach us three paths for these days: teshuvah, tefillah, and tzedakah.

The Rebbe explains that tzedakah means more than charity. The word comes from tzedek - justice. Giving isn't simply an act of generosity or something we do when we have extra. Giving to help another person is part of who we are and part of what we're here in this world to do.

That's why tzedakah has such a meaningful place during the Ten Days of Teshuvah. As we reflect on the year that's ending and think about the year we're about to enter, we can build the habit of giving - strengthening that part of ourselves and bringing more goodness into the world.
