Portland State's student-run newspaper since 1946. Covers local, breaking news, and more It publishes every Tuesday during the academic year.

The tabloid format newspaper has a circulation of 5,000, and is distributed for free in the Portland State campus area. The Portland State Media Board, which consists of four students, four faculty members, and one community member, acts as the Vanguard’s publishing body. The board hires the newspaper’s editor each year, and the remainder of the staff is hired by the editor. Editors serve a one ye

Today we partnered with KPSU, Portland State’s college radio, to see what students around campus are listening to!

On Friday, April 3, PSU-AAUP held a rally and march in opposition to proposed university-wise program cuts. Attendees chanted, held signs, and listened to speeches in the Urban Plaza, before walking to the Neuberger Center and continuing the rally in front of president Ann Cudd’s office. From there, PSU-AAUP president Bill Knight delivered a message during the Board of Trustees meeting, with attendees and their signs visible in the background. Despite police presence, PSU-AAUP continued to rally and share messages of frustration towards the university’s administration.
