Before You Schedule Service, Try the Reset Button!

A customer recently contacted us because their Reliance water heater wasn't producing hot water. When our technician arrived, we found that the unit had not been reset yet.

Since replacement thermostats weren't available on the service vehicle, the first step was to reset the water heater and allow time to see if normal operation returned. The customer is now monitoring the unit, and if the issue persists, we'll return for further diagnosis and repairs.

Appliance Tip: Sometimes a tripped safety device or control can cause an appliance to stop working. Before scheduling service, it's worth checking your owner's manual to see if a simple reset procedure is recommended for your appliance.

Maintenance Tip: Regularly draining and flushing your water heater is one of the best things you can do to help extend its life and maintain efficiency. Over time, sediment can build up inside the tank, which can affect performance and potentially lead to premature component failure.

Of course, if the problem returns or the appliance still isn't working properly, it's time for a professional diagnosis.

Back on the Road Again 💪🔧We’re so happy to share that Cory is back to work!

After stepping away for a medical emergency, he’s been cleared to return (for now) until he heads back out for an upcoming surgery. It’s been great having him back doing what he does best.

Emergency Service Call — Problem Solved! ❄️

Our technician was recently called out for an emergency service on a 1996 side-by-side Sub-Zero refrigerator. The freezer door was stuck open, and the customer was understandably ready to start breaking parts if needed.

Luckily, the fix was much simpler. The technician found that the lower freezer door bin was catching on the lower basket. After properly reattaching the door bin, the freezer door now closes and seals correctly — no broken parts required!

Older, well-built appliances can often be repaired with the right experience and care.

Holiday Prep Tip from AAA Appliance Service 🎄🍪

We know many of you are getting your homes ready for the holidays! One important tip we’d like to share: This is not the best time to do a deep cleaning of your oven or stovetop.

Some of the most common service calls we receive around the holidays include:

Ovens that won’t unlock after a self-clean cycle
Ovens that stop heating altogether
Gas stovetop burners that won’t ignite because cleaning has clogged the burner orifices

While this type of maintenance is important, we recommend waiting until after the holiday to tackle deep oven and stovetop cleaning. It can help you avoid unexpected appliance issues when you need them most.

When the Garbage Disposal Wins…

Check out this battle scar! Our tech was called out to fix a jammed garbage disposal and discovered a spoon lodged inside. He removed this completely twisted spoon from the 1 horsepower KitchenAid disposal we installed a few years back.

The verdict?
Spoon: lost.
Disposal: still going strong. 💪
