Broken Ladder

Writer of ordinary things that make an outsized impact on our lives: the homes we leave, conversations we replay, people we love badly or bravely, moments that reveal who we are becoming, the confusing ways we try to build a life that feels like ours. Broken Ladder is about introducing ideas/discussions in a non-judgmental platform. I like to explore a variety of topics and look at them from all angles, sometimes in researching different aspects of relationships, politics, or the completely random I surprise myself. I have appreciated that no one has ever preached or been insulted by subjects I have introduced which have covered everything from travel to or***ms however I would love to see more cross communication and feedback. One of the best women I ever had the honor of sharing years of my life with was my grandmother. I selected the phrase on her headstone, “A Life Well Lived,” she was a remarkable woman and she continues to motivate and inspire me to be the best version of myself each day. A life well lived is my daily mantra, my friends and family are a support that I could not live without and I have been blessed with four legged furry friends over the years that have taught me what love and devotion are all about. Like every person who writes.. I started without thought… on napkins, spiraled notebooks, and in today’s world I now text ideas to myself so I won’t forget about it later. I am one of the most impatient people you may ever have the pleasure of meeting but when I am writing a zen washes over me and hours are lost without concern. I started writing a book about four years ago and in that process many friends encouraged me to start a blog. The first book that I fell in love with was Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, this book was rejected by a dozen publisher’s who deemed it “too intellectual,” “too controversial” and would not sell because no audience existed for it... Thankfully this was not the case. Salinger... Howard Roark and Holden Caulfield.. I look for both of them in any man that I date... the search continues... perhaps outside of the literary realm no one like this exists :)

I care deeply about the people I invite into my life and actively support the world I want to live in and make every attempt to keep that world alive. I still buy real books because I can't imagine a world without bookstores. I love to travel, dance, write, read and currently I love to listen to Pandora and wander the streets of Philadelphia with no agenda at all. The first movie I fell in love with was Flashdance. In the spirit of my six year old self who told Santa she wanted a Flashdance album for Christmas and then jumped from sofa cushion to sofa cushion singing at the top of her mighty lungs… “Take your passion and make it happen…” go out in the world and live your passion, we will be a better society for it!
