Can you find the heart?
I don’t love it when a critter nibbles on the first blooms of the season but this one I couldn’t be mad at. She made the cutest heart design in the anemone.
Since Sister Garden is operated as an organic farm there is heavy pest pressure. This means some flowers or plants get eaten. There is a balance to everything which indicates a healthy ecosystem. Soon the beneficial insects and birds will get to work in controlling some of these early season munchers.

Soil blocking is ideal for tiny seeds. I can more seedlings in my little greenhouse. It also helps the plant air prune its roots so it doesn’t get root bound. Today I’m seeding Italian pansies and planting out ranunculus.

Bringing these heritage chrysanthemum beauties to the tomorrow 10am-2pm. This may be the last opportunity for local flowers but we’ll see what frost says. With proper care these can last for your thanksgiving table!
