Spring is in full swing and I’m sending bouquets out daily. It’s exciting to see how many folks want locally grown flowers. Treat yourself to flowers you can and should touch!

I don’t love it when a critter nibbles on the first blooms of the season but this one I couldn’t be mad at. She made the cutest heart design in the anemone.

Since Sister Garden is operated as an organic farm there is heavy pest pressure. This means some flowers or plants get eaten. There is a balance to everything which indicates a healthy ecosystem. Soon the beneficial insects and birds will get to work in controlling some of these early season munchers.

Soil blocking is ideal for tiny seeds. I can more seedlings in my little greenhouse. It also helps the plant air prune its roots so it doesn’t get root bound. Today I’m seeding Italian pansies and planting out ranunculus.

Bringing these heritage chrysanthemum beauties to the tomorrow 10am-2pm. This may be the last opportunity for local flowers but we’ll see what frost says. With proper care these can last for your thanksgiving table!

This one is flying across the county this morning. We’ll soon be opening up a limited number of subscriptions for 2026 as well as select wedding dates and the highly desired bulk buckets of flowers. Get ready to snag them!
