Thank you so much for your kind orders over the weekend! 🌞 I mentioned on my Stories that I’m taking final orders up until the end of the day tomorrow (23/06) so I can slow down before the arrival of a small person. 🍼 I’ll be closed for a while but will be back at some point, perhaps when things start getting festive… we shall see! I don’t think I ever got round to sharing a proper photo of these lovely riso cards, printed so beautifully with four inks by RISOTTO, so here’s the whole gang ♥️ I’ve added 5 new stamps to the previous 8 designs, all with their locations on the reverse, and the puffin ones are back too! 👏
I’m so excited for what is coming together stateside for my tiny exhibition with the , opening tomorrow! Here’s a closer look at some of the pieces which will be available through the gallery. I have loved following this wonderful, whimsical project on here and knew it would be a perfect fit for my miniatures as soon as I saw it! Please let me know if you make it along - I’m sad not to be able to see it in person, but I’m so thrilled these will be on show for over a month, until July 25th 🤗
Opening reception | Friday June 5th from 6-8pm

A wee peek at what I’ve been piecing together for a very small exhibition at the … opening next Friday in Provo, UT! 🔍 My usual frames were far too big, so I made and painted these miniatures ones at few centimetres each 😅

One of my favourite paper pieces to make for my current exhibition was this one, based on a hidden gem in Helsinki, the Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall 🏊🏻♀️ I had a couple of days out in the city while I was staying in Finland, and I was considering going for more day trips just for the joy of swimming here! The building was designed in the 1920s by Väinö Vähäkallio, and is such a tranquil space to be, with separate days for men and women, saunas and a bar, and the option of wearing a swimming costume (my British family were in shock 😳). I actually felt quite emotional bobbing around with all these ladies of different ages, embracing their bodies and taking time out of their days to be in community and look after themselves in such a beautiful space. You can’t take photos inside, so I wanted to try and capture the place in a little paper scene. Afterwards my Finish friend Saara introduced me to her dad, a master potter, who handmade some of the tiles for the pool when it recently reopened. 💙
You can still see this piece and more at .41 for this weekend only, and afterwards it’ll be heading to my next exhibition which I’ll post lots about soon!
Last couple of snaps taken by and the two in the middle can be found on ’s website.

The sun has arrived in Glasgow just in time for my wee solo show, which opened today at .41 🥳 I’ve really loved making these pieces and figuring out all the details of this exhibiting since getting back from my Finnish residency, so I hope it shows when you come and see it! More photos to follow, but for now please do give me a shout if you manage to catch it, or come and join us for drinks on Saturday eve and say hi in person 🙌

Little ones welcome!

I’ve had this old secondhand locket sat in an envelope for a while now, and I finally got round to filling it with a little paper scene while I was away in Finland. Of course it’s another frozen lake… a very fiddly one that was quite limiting with its scale, but a good challenge as always!
I’m installing this and more of my work from that trip at the beautiful N.Atelier in Glasgow today, opening tomorrow and running to the 3rd of May - I can’t wait to have it all up on the wall! The open evening is on Saturday 25th from 6-8pm, and all are very welcome to pop in for a drink and a closer look! This piece and a couple of other framed ones will be available to purchase 😌 I’d love to see what I can fit inside another locket or two in the future, so I will do some serious eBay digging when I can!

While I was away in Finland last month, I used some of the time to make a few of my hand cut stamps based on my new surroundings - here are three of them along with a small announcement at the end! Most days of the residency I could be found outside painting and sketching when the weather was good, and when it wasn’t, I took those drawings back to the place I was staying and cut them out in miniature form. I really fussed over ever shape with these, but it’s always a delicate balance of how much detail to add… I tried to include a tiny a deer in the front of one but they’re the most annoying animals to capture correctly, so I gave up and added some letter boxes instead!
Now for some news… I am preparing a small exhibition including these Finnish pieces and a collection of miniatures I have in progress called ‘the Wee Small Hours’, which will be heading across the pond in June (more details on that to come!). Before that, I wanted to show some of these works at home here in Glasgow. , a gorgeous little exhibition space and cafe in the Southside, will have a selection of work up on its walls from the 22nd of April-3rd of May 🥳 We’ll be having an open evening on Saturday the 25th so please save the date, and stop by for a drink and a look through the magnifying glasses! 🔍☺️ Excited to show you what I’ve been making!

Hei! It’s been a little while 🌞 I got back yesterday from spending a beautiful month in Finland as the artist in residence, and I had an incredible time! I’ve gathered lots of things to share, including some new miniatures which I’m just adding the finishing touches to, so I thought I’d start off with these thumbnail sketches from my first day, along with a few photos from around Fiskars village (where I was staying) and Helsinki… I’m going to really miss these scenes, the people, and drawing outside in the quietest quiet, but it’s nice to get back to Spring in Scotland and to the studio 🌼 Looking forward to sharing more of this trip with you soon!
