Decided to go all in with headphone monitoring as a primary reference until the new studio is finished and honestly loving it.

1.5 months later and the new are finished! Currently sitting on the bench in Kentucky for their 200hr burn in. These are big bois; weighing in at 120lbs each! Just need an amp now—and to finish the new studio 🤪 Stoked 🔥

I can remember years ago, surrendering precious recordings that I spent eternities on, to some of the worlds top Mastering Engineers only to end up with a pit in my gut, feeling the dread that id just never get the sound I was looking for. If they couldn’t get me there, who could? That led me down the path—the search for the sound at any cost. It took years to get there; endless trials and errors, shootouts with gear and slowly accumulating my arsenal of carefully chosen weapons. 

It’s beyond gratifying to remember this journey and getting to help and witness others find that satisfaction you’ve spent your life chasing the hard way. Being at a point where you can master one single for a group of artists and have them come back wanting you to fully produce their next project is a joy the sixteen-year-old me would’ve never seen coming. Cheers to gratitude and progression 🥂

Mastering this track just now when I noticed something wasn’t quite right in the top end. I threw an analyzer on it and to my surprise found an ultra-sonic tone, invisible to the human ear, throughout the entire track! Makes no sense since every individual component has edits—must have happened at the mix-down stage. What on earth could it be other than aliens!? Ohwell, its useless information and shall be filtered out. Hire me because I hear the impossible

Often times perfect pitch correction just sounds worse. For the absolute best sound in a track, every syllable must be carefully analyzed and considered—in unison with not only the harmonizing vocals, but the mix in its entirety. Real instrument performances are never 100% in tune, even if the instrument itself is; so all vocal phrases should be auditioned and manually adjusted in real-time on a micro-tonal scale until the section in process sings to your soul. ⁣
