MorphisStudios
Art Projects, Photography, and other musings and meanderings... MorphisStudios was founded by two Portland artists, Vincent Ramirez & Justine Avera.
We decided to join forces after collaborating on multiple art projects over the years. We enjoy exploring what is quirky and beautiful about the Pacific Northwest region. In our personal artwork, we often straddle that line between the sublime and the ugly, the corporate and the underground. Over the years, we became partners in life where we were just once partners in art. So as you meander throu

Come join us outside the Mt Scott Community center Saturday Oct 19th from noon to 3 for a community dyeing event. Materials are being provided they will be using natural dyes and the finished materials are part of the finished installation!
Please join RACC and Portland Parks & Recreation in celebrating Portland-based artist Isabella Saavedra (), selected to create a site-specific interior artwork for Mt Scott Community Center's soon-to-be renovated main lobby!
Isabella, a member of the Pit River Tribe, Madesi band, with Salvadoran descent, thoughtfully documents her everyday life through painting and stitchwork—a theme she refers to as “now-isms.”
Her upcoming large-scale, mixed-media piece will incorporate stitchwork, painting, and natural dye techniques, drawing inspiration from Portland, its people, and her own experiences within this time and place. The artwork will adorn the multi-story stairwell wall—one of the first features visitors encounter upon entering—and aims to reflect and complement the natural and organic elements of the center's design.
To inform her design process and engage with the community, Isabella is hosting a Community Dye Event on Saturday, October 19th, from noon to 3 pm at Mt. Scott Park. South of the community center's construction area are a number of picnic tables in the middle of the park where this engagement will be happening! The dyeing activity will be facilitated by Made of Madder (), the creative endeavor of local textile artist Cydni Carter Lopez. Lunch will be provided by Javelina PDX. All are welcome to participate and help shape this public artwork!

I don’t post much here anymore because Facebook keeps jamming unwanted content on what is supposed to be my business page, including other photographers’ and artists’ work. Does anyone know how to stop this? I have reached out to FB multiple times and filed complaints and no response. I think Facebook is going the way of MySpace. Something that started so great but is now losing its relevance and utility.
