PFR responded to a fire on Ainsworth near Concord.a few weeks ago. Luckily no lives lost or injuries. Neighbors who witnessed the fire said there was a big plume of dark smoke coming from the building and they were quite concerned. Fast action by firefighters contained fire damage in this multifamily dwelling.

Crazy weekend for Portland Fire. Numerous brush fires, a house fire which could have spread to surrounding houses and car fires which caught surrounding vegetation on fire in NW hills.

The unprecedented need for shelters, and reduced staffing levels due to travel difficulty, mean that your help is critical to this ongoing incident response. A giant THANK YOU to all of you who have signed up and already kept this operation running. Shelter shifts are open to the public, so please consider volunteering for a few hours if you have not yet.

Before going to your first shift please watch the 10-minute NET Shelter Training video. Volunteers are also encouraged, but not required, to sign up for an additional two-hour online training if possible. TriMet fares are waived for anyone going to a warm place during this emergency. TriMet asks riders to let their driver know they are headed to a warm place.
Call the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) hotline at 503-988-3646 for 24-hour information and assistance to older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers.
Call 9-1-1 of someone is showing symptoms of hypothermia: shivering uncontrollably, or suffering confusion, slurred speech or drowsiness. Get them somewhere warm and dry.
In Portland, call 9-1-1 and request Portland Street Response for people experiencing mental health crisis.
In Multnomah County, call the Multnomah County Sheriff non-emergency response line at 503-823-3333 to request a welfare check.
