Worker power in action! 🗳️💛
We are so proud to introduce our new Day Laborer Committee (DLC). These worker leaders were elected today by their peers to help guide Voz’s programming, lead our monthly assemblies, and shape the future of our community.
Through advocacy and organizing, and with the support of our Leadership School, they are ready to continue building collective power! ✊🏽

We are excited to announce that we are transforming our work center backyard into a thriving garden! This project gives our workers a productive way to stay busy, learn valuable gardening skills, and grow their own fresh food and flowers.
While wood donations are our #1 priority to get these beds built, we are also looking for:
* 🪴 Soil & Compost (to fill the beds)
* 🍅 Vegetable Starts & Flower Seeds
* 🛠️ Gardening Tools (New or used! Shovels, rakes, trowels, etc.)
* YOU! If you want to volunteer your time or gardening expertise, we want to meet you.

Voz continues to fight for the dignity and safety of every worker, including farm workers, day laborers, migrant workers, and domestic workers. True liberation means a movement where everyone is safe to speak up, and no one is too powerful to be held accountable. 🤍 We stand with all survivors in truth and healing.

Today, we join communities across the country to say it clearly: ABOLISH ICE.
Our Worker Center is open today for our members and the immigrant day laborers who make Voz what it is. While others shut down, we are holding space, staying connected, and making sure our community has what it needs.
But we support everyone today who isn’t working, who isn’t shopping, who isn’t going to school.
After today, la lucha sigue. We keep putting pressure on government and corporations. We keep supporting migrant workers and local businesses. We keep showing up until ICE is out of our communities.
SOLO EL PUEBLO SALVA AL PUEBLO. ✊🏽

Chinga la migra. Abolish ICE.
On this MLK Day, Voz is joining for .
Today, we honor Dr. King by refusing to stay silent. By refusing to passively accept an unjust system. By refusing to look away while fear and dehumanization are used to control and exploit people.
We honor him by continuing to fight for justice. Not in theory, but in real life, alongside immigrant workers who are being targeted for simply existing and speaking up.
That fight isn’t over. And neither are we.
Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo.

Today we name Renee Nicole Good.
We mourn her life. We rage at her death.
And we refuse to accept violence carried out by immigration enforcement as normal.
We will keep showing up for one another. We will not stay silent.
