Fine Art Remote Session in Palm Springs with the Bass family. I’m really starting to realize the power of these remote/virtual sessions, taking over a client’s phone and doing a session with them even when they’re on vacation. The restriction of not physically being there is also where the inspiration can be found.

Spring mini sessions are back this year May 2nd and 3rd in Portland. Newsletter goes out tomorrow with info, and newsletter subscribers get first dibs on time slots, so sign up in the newsletter link in my profile. Sessions open to the public for booking on Friday if there are any slots left. Focus tends to be more on motherhood for this one, but the whole family is welcome.

Lifestyle session with both digital and film with the Morton family. Finding strength in family when life gives you the unexpected. What a perfect baby. 💕

Second smilie love child of Bria and Mary that they’ve let me photograph - continuing their family story and filling me up.
Photographs can be legacy, art, therapy, a gift, your memory keeper, seeing on paper what your soul sees. I never regret choosing this path.

I’ve been getting several reschedules lately because life felt too busy or it just wasn’t the best time for one reason or another for the client. I also get that as a reason for families not to do it at all and then another year passes by. The truth is there is almost never the “perfect time”.
With the type of work I do, hair does not have to be freshly cut or outfits perfectly coordinated or house just cleaned by house cleaners. Life is messy and imperfect and beautiful and worth documenting exactly as it is. An “imperfect” shoot is so much better than missing out on capturing your family at this stage of life, or baby milestone that you will miss when it’s gone.
This is a lifestyle session from this summer when there was several accounts of life getting messy, but I really think it’s more interesting that way.

There is a painting in the background of this first one of Kira’s grandmother. When photographing it I got the *feels* thinking about 3 generations captured together in a photo. In home lifestyle maternity session.
I’m not saying I’ll never do it, but does anyone else find it overstimulating to have music on about every post on Instagram now? Instagram threatens that my posts will not reach as many people without it. I have a hard enough time to just get a post together, let alone come up with the perfect song to match!? Clearly I have first world problems.😅

Give me all the naked babies in backyards in the summer. I feel you’ve slipped away today summer, I still have tomatoes that need to ripen and a hammock that didn’t get enough attention yet - come back! 😢

Lots of sessions getting wild by the water lately, I don’t want summer to end. 6th session with the Dean family, l love watching these babies grow.
I’ve been traveling this past week so waiting in airports means actually getting a moment to post on this thing - 2ce in a week is short of a miracle!

The first and last family session before they moved from Portland to the east coast. “These are the days” is a quote that often comes to me with bigger kids that will soon be teenagers, you’ll want to capture this time when they still want to be held or hold your hand. Fine art family session.

Creative Branding Portraits with Chris, an amazing photojournalist and creative friend. In her 50’s she was ready to be raw and exposed in front of the camera even if it meant immersing herself in a river on a frigid spring day.
I’m getting to the point that I’m really bored and tired of seeing skinny white female 20-30 something’s in my scroll, and Chris feels the same. I want to see more sizes and colors and non conforming genders and interesting characters in my feed. As a chonky 47 year old, I’d find it refreshing to be represented. I want to find the time to post more and be more inclusive too. I invite those that don’t fit the mould to reach out, I’d love to work with you.
