U.S. Midwest Freezes, Australia Burns: This Is the Age of Weather Extremes 01/30/2019

Trump obviously doesn't know the difference between "weather" and "climate." Could he just go to any 3rd grade classroom for a week and re-start his "education'? WON'T HAPPEN, sadly.

"INTRODUCTIONS" OPENS WITH A 3rd SATURDAY RECEPTION Saturday, January 16 from 5-9 at Mark Woolley Gallery, top floor of Pioneer Place in downtown Portland at SW 4th and Morrison. Ample parking right across the street at Smartpark. This exciting exhibition introduces (and re-introduces) some amazing talents and runs through Sunday, March 13, 2016, with another EVENING RECEPTION 3RD SATURDAY in FEBRUARY, Saturday February 20, 5-9 pm. "INTRODUCTIONS" features collaborative mixed media works by Astoria-based artist SID DELUCA and Bend-based artist STIRLING GORSUCH. Gorsuch creates evocative and delicate monoprints and Deluca adds iconic, wry and graphic elements through collage. The results are wonderful and highly original. Longtime Portland artist GUSTAF MORTIER presents highly layered, painterly works which in some cases take many years to complete. Skilled as a printmaker and painter, Mortier has had numerous Portland exhibitions and work in some Mark Woolley group shows, but not for awhile, so this is most definitely a re-introduction. Finally, an exciting, emerging painter, SAMUEL EISEN-MEYERS, explores the human figure in a variety of styles, some quite classical and some more Cubist-inspired. Please join us for this fun opening and if you can't make it, the gallery is open with this show Thursday-Sunday, 12-6 through March 13. Hope to see you soon!
