Most marketing budgets aren't built.

They're inherited...

One line item and one legacy platform at a time...

Until nobody remembers why half the spend is allocated the way it is.

If you rebuilt your entire marketing strategy today, with no legacy platforms, no historical budgets, and no "we've always done it this way," what would actually make the cut?

Which channels would get more investment?
Which audiences are actually driving growth versus just driving activity?
Where does AI genuinely fit into your operations instead of being bolted on for the sake of it?

If you rebuilt your marketing strategy today, what's the first thing you'd change?

So your ad platform reports that the ads were responsible for all conversions. But would some of the sales have happened regardless?

This is the core idea behind incrementality, and it's one of the most overlooked concepts in enterprise paid media.

Attribution tells you an ad was present before a sale happened. It doesn't tell you whether that sale would have happened anyway.

Understanding the difference between the two is what separates paid media that's driving real new customer acquisition from paid media that's just taking credit for customers you already had.

If you've never measured incrementality for your own campaigns, there's a good chance you're paying for results you'd have gotten for free.

Revisiting your paid ad strategies is always a good idea.

Be cause running campaigns on six different platforms doesn't automatically add up to a cross-channel strategy.

Sometimes it just adds up to six separate campaigns that happen to share a logo.

A real cross-channel strategy means one coordinated plan across every platform:

Measurement that connects the dots between them
Audience targeting that stays consistent
Budget allocation based on the complete customer journey rather than whichever platform reported the best number last month.

We covered what it actually takes to turn six platforms into one strategy instead of six competing ones.

Are you falling into patterns and running the same campaigns because you have a budget to cover x amount anyway?

Maybe it's time to reevaluate and put the money towards an ad strategy that works even better.

Every enterprise marketing budget has at least one campaign coasting on historical performance rather than current results.

Unfortunately, diminishing returns don't announce themselves.
They show up quietly, month after month, until someone finally asks why performance has flattened while spend has stayed the same.

Knowing when to reallocate budget toward something with actual growth potential is harder than sticking with what's familiar, but it's the difference between a budget that's optimized and one that's just on autopilot.

Before you add more budget anywhere, make sure what's already there is earning it.

Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and retail media are not interchangeable, and treating them like they are is a waste of budget.

Every platform has a specific job to do inside the customer journey.

Search is built to capture demand that already exists.
Social is built to create and influence demand that doesn't exist yet.

When every platform is asked to do everything, you end up with overlap, inefficiency, and a budget that's working against itself instead of together.

We broke down why giving each channel a defined job changes how your entire budget performs.

You may think your competitors with bigger paid advertising budgets are sure to win out.

But it's not only about the budget.

Outspending a competitor buys volume.

It doesn't automatically buy better targeting, stronger creative, or a deeper understanding of search intent.

And those are the factors that actually determine whether ad spend turns into revenue.

Enterprise brands competing against bigger budgets win by being smarter with the dollars they do have.

That means finding the search intent competitors are ignoring, building creative that actually earns attention instead of just buying it, and optimizing continuously instead of setting a campaign and walking away.

Bigger budgets get attention. Smarter strategy gets results.

You've checked a box. Your paid ads platform says ROAS is strong. But why don't the numbers coming in actually reflect that?

Both things can be true at once, and it's one of the most common disconnects between marketing teams and the executives they report to.

Platform-reported ROAS measures what that platform can see, not what actually drove the sale. A customer might see three ads across three platforms before converting, and every one of those platforms will happily take full credit.

We broke down what CEOs and CFOs actually need to understand about marketing measurement, and why the number on your ad dashboard isn't always the number that matters.
