Twenty five years ago this morning I was at my childhood home in Idaho, in the process of moving from the east coast to the west for graduate school. My dad called me from work and told me to turn on the television. None of us knew how the world was changing that morning, but we continue to deal with the tragic events of that day. May we continue to remember and take inspiration from the example of people who worked to save people. Their backgrounds, political preferences, races, religions, didn’t matter. We were all Americans. We still are, and we can use more of that unity these days.
