Bad Bunny healed the internet for 36+ hours
I watched the halftime show twice, I loved it.
I especially enjoyed learning about all of the subtle (and not so subtle) references to Puerto Rican culture and history.
And to see how excited people were when Ricky Martin popped up
Or their country's name was mentioned.
I'm glad my Instagram algorithm got tricked for a little bit
To give me a breather
From all the terrible s**t that is going on with ICE
And the Trump-Epstein Files
And our concentration camps
It was nice to take a break from our bleak news for a bit
And focus a bit on unity
And celebrate how excited and united our Spanish speaking friends and neighbors got to feel for a little bit.

Pretty fun to watch the Glaucus-winged Gull plunge into the mighty Columbia to yank out a hefty bug snack.
Too big for one bite, it flew to shore, took out its flip phone, said “phone eats first,” snapped a photo, then tore it in twain and ate it in two big gulps.

Today in the studio, a partially leucistic Oregon Junco (Dark-eyed Junco oreganus) stopped by for a surprise photo shoot.
So glad to have it here. Hope it likes the seeds I offered (and compliments)
Its rare to see pigmentation abnormalities in birds, so it makes even a somewhat common species very exciting. Especially when its in your yard!

Turqoise-browed Motmot are definitely worth ogling
I love that their tail feathers are called rackets.
I love them. I hope some day I get to see all of the motmots.
