Operation Nightwatch Portland

Operation Nightwatch volunteer Cindy Brown has written a new novel that highlights the massive social issue of houselessness and that will appeal to those who enjoy twisty mysteries combined with feel-good stories that deliver a strong social message. She has graciously donated some of her sales proceeds to our organization. Thank you, Cindy for your volunteer work and your financial support!

We’re in the midst of one of the most transformative years in our history, including long-needed capital improvements made possible by our recent capital campaign.

While this work is ongoing, we’d like to connect with our community by sharing construction progress, updates on the on-site Agape shelter, and our outlook for the next fiscal year amid a volatile fiscal and political climate.

Join us on Tuesday, May 12, from 6:00–7:30 PM at 1432 SW 13th Ave.

Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Please enter through the Angel Doors on SW 13th; for ADA access, proceed to the Angel Doors and a staff member or volunteer will assist you via the ramp entrance.

Our volunteers are an essential component of Operation Nightwatch’s success in delivering hospitality and services to our guests. We very much appreciate their dedication to our mission.

Once each month, our ‘birthday crew’ celebrates each month’s birthdays by bringing in and serving cake and ice cream to our guests. Thank you, Madeline and Dolores for your generosity and service!

Update on our capital campaign: thanks to the dedicated donations from generous individuals totaling nearly $250,0000, construction has begun in our kitchen! We will soon have a brand new industrial stove, new ventilation, plumbing, and counter space to provide meals to those in need. The kitchen is part of our bigger improvement project that will add central air conditioning and include repairs to our foundation and roof to our 96 year-old structure. We are so grateful to those who contributed to this project: you are making a huge difference at Operation Nightwatch.
