It’s with a mix of gratitude and sadness that we share some news from Cecil’s Place.
As of June 1st one of our most valued managers at our Washington Ave location is moving on, and while we’re incredibly proud of them and thankful for everything they’ve contributed, they will be deeply missed by both staff and residents alike. Their dedication, compassion, and steady presence helped shape the supportive environment that makes Cecil’s Place what it is today.
As we turn the page, we’re reaching out to our community to help us find the right person to step into this important role. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and passionate about recovery someone who understands the responsibility and impact of helping others rebuild their lives.
This individual needs to be a man who ideally has 6 months or more of sobriety, experience in a Sober Living environment, at the minimum have read their 4th step, and a reliable vehicle is a plus. A job description can be emailed for anyone to review.
If you or someone you know would be a great fit, please reach out to Wes or Cecil directly via email or send a message here. Sharing this post also means a lot and helps us connect with the right people.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Cecil’s Place we couldn’t do this without you.

After a small renovation to the basement of our Washington Ave house we have half of it ready to take on 4 more occupants. And once the rest of the furniture is moved in, we will have space for 6 more on the other side. Additionally, we have added 2 sets of brand-new washer/dryers, a full-size ping pong table, and will soon have 2 more flat screens (hopefully massive 😉) in the basement living rooms to be able to hold in house events for things like the Superbowl or UFC. This has been a massive undertaking once again, but we are continuing to hold true to our values of creating the best possible situation for men in recovery to set up a base camp before heading to the top of the mountain.

“Recovery is not one and done. It is a lifelong journey that takes place one day, one step at a time.” – Unknown
Every week brings its own challenges, but also its own victories — some big, some small. This quote reminds me that it's okay not to have everything figured out. What matters is that we keep showing up, keep choosing the better path, and keep leaning on each other.
Cecil's Place isn’t just a sober house — it’s a community where growth happens daily, even in the quiet moments. Proud to be walking this journey with all of you. Let's keep going, one step at a time. 💪
