We were thrilled to have the short Cosmic Monkey Comics documentary featured in TWO sold-out programs at the Gig Harbor Film Festival. What an incredible experience! It’s already been featured at the PDX airport and has a nice run of fests ahead, but we’ll be putting it online for everyone to see before the holidays. Onward!

Hello everyone! Your resident fiend - Wren - at Cosmic Monkey is here to tell you about some new and notable titles here at the shop!This week, I have another post-apocalyptic science fiction story for you, but it’s more emotional and contemplative. It's THE COLOR OF THE END, by Yen Press!

In this post apocalypse sci-fi tale, most of humanity has been killed by entities known as Executioners, leaving behind not just destruction, but a strange virus/fungus that turns human corpses turned into stone. Our main character, Saya, is an android tasked with surveying the rubble and searching for any remaining bodies - living or dead.

The story starts off following Saya’s daily life, her routines and her journeys with her little animal friend Coo. Together, they traverse desolate, dark cityscapes drawn with dark hatching and gray tones, looking for human corpses to put to rest. As Saya comes across various remnants of humanity, the strange world unfolds, changing her small job of lowly funeral director for humanity to something which might resemble delivering hope...
