To 7 laps around the sun with my Iman.
I cannot believe the gift that you are.
This morning, getting to hold you during shavasana at your first real yoga class, while listening to the cello, I just about cried.
My sweet, special girl—you are everything. Wise beyond your years, always open-hearted, and unapologetically yourself. You are a wonder.
I will love you more each day for as long as I live.
Happiest birthday, my dearest darling.

This past year has held a depth I don’t think I’ve known until now. A constant undercurrent of not knowing whether my mom is going to stay Earthside—or for how long. A friend said to me a few months ago, “Your mother is your tether to the planet.” That landed deep.
There is something about the discomfort of life when it gets bumpy that also seems to bring out the most beautiful, open, and generous parts of people. Some of the sweetest moments and kindest gestures have happened this year. Support and love reaching out from those dearest to me, and from many people I’ve only just begun to know.
As I near the end of my thirties, I find myself reminding myself of what I know to be true for others: life isn’t always smooth, and it was never meant to be. Some of the most challenging seasons eventually pass, opening doors to the unimaginable.
What I know for sure is that community—and most specifically, a tight-knit circle of women—is my rock. My grounding. Some of the greatest loves of my life are my oldest friends, my newest friends, and those I haven’t met yet.
I am so grateful for the experience of knowing you all. And I wish for everyone to have at least one true friend like the many I am lucky enough to call home.

Happiest solar returning my sweetest May Day love. It’s been a bumpy few weeks, but you haven’t skipped a beat. Thank you for always bringing sparkle to our day. I love your stories, your art and imagination, how independent you’ve always been, and how silly I hope you’ll always be. I can’t believe you chose us this lifetime, didn’t know this kind of magic existed before you. To many more laps around the sun, I love you forever Leni Rue. 💛

Fiji. This was the best trip we’ve ever taken. I haven’t used a film camera since college, but had the idea to send me with her simple point and shoot. Learned some lessons about trying to take so many low light pics and kids turning on the panorama setting. But still, I love them all anyway.

If you haven’t heard, the North Shore of Oʻahu—our home—was hit with back-to-back flooding. So many have lost homes, cars, and businesses. The damage is heartbreaking.
Now we’re in the aftermath, and this community is showing up in the most powerful ways—helping, rebuilding, supporting one another. If you want to help from afar, consider donating directly. I’ll keep sharing GoFundMe links.
This post is for those on the ground—digging out, volunteering, and the ʻohana who lived through it. What you’re carrying matters.
Beyond the physical damage, there’s also shock, grief, and trauma. Please take care of yourselves too.
A few simple supports:
• Pause + breathe (even a few minutes helps regulate your system). Aim for 100 deep breaths a day to get your nervous system out of fight or flight.
• Shake it out (literally—helps release stress + reset). See video for a demo. This comes from the qigong lineage I learned in medical school.
• Homeopathy: Arnica, Aconite, Ignatia. These clear trauma, shock and grief from the body. Can find at celestial for under $10/ea. DM for dosing.
I’ll also be offering 2 weeks of free acupuncture for those directly affected (details soon), and pay-what-you-can sessions for others, with proceeds going back to the community.
Reach out if you need support, and please share.
Sending big love 🤍

Fertility Part 2
Preparing to get pregnant can feel overwhelming—even daunting. There’s no shortage of opinions out there… ask anyone and they’ll have advice (warranted or not).
For me, one of the most important things you can do is build your support network early. When it’s already in place, you have somewhere to bring your questions, concerns, excitement, and discomfort—a space to be held as you walk this path.
Some modalities I especially love and why:
Food
I can’t overstate this one enough. What you put in and on your body is one of the most powerful ways to support fertility and long-term health. If digestion isn’t optimal, getting support here can improve hormone balance, nutrient absorption, and detoxification—benefiting both you and your future baby.
Acupuncture
Supports the body physically for conception while also calming the mind and emotions. It helps bring you into balance and ease—exactly where you want to be.
Naturopathic Medicine
An incredible system for addressing toxic load and supporting gentle, effective detox. Our world is full of exposures, but there’s so much we can do (often low-maintenance) to support the body. Plus, access to testing and expert interpretation can be a game-changer for unexplained infertility.
Psychotherapy
Mental and emotional health matter—deeply. Whether it’s talk therapy, CBT, trauma work, meditation, or other healing modalities, the more you understand and support yourself, the more grounded you’ll feel stepping into this next chapter.
Plant Medicine
From homeopathy and flower essences to ceremonial work, plants can be powerful allies—helping us release what no longer serves and connect more deeply to ourselves and our purpose.
There’s no one “right” way—just what feels aligned for you. Build your support, trust your body, and take it one step at a time .

Fertility Series: Part One
I’ve been speaking with many people on the path to conception. A common question I hear is: How can natural medicine support this journey?
First, there is no single “right” way to approach preconception. Every body, partnership, and timeline is different. What feels supportive for one may not for another. But there are meaningful ways to nurture healthy, thriving families.
For me, the first step is intention.
A pause.
A moment where you say — to yourself, your partner, and your future baby — yes, I want this.
When we become intentional, we shift from passively hoping into consciously welcoming. That shift changes how we care for ourselves and how we show up in the process.
Your timeline will depend on your age, health, relationship, stress load, and readiness. In general, I suggest allowing at least a three-month preparation window. This is how long it takes for s***m and egg to mature. The s***m and egg that create a pregnancy began developing about three months before conception.
That window is an opportunity.
To nourish your body.
To replenish nutrients.
To support sleep and stress regulation.
To create a healthy embryo and a supportive womb space.
From there, the approach can vary.
Some people prefer comprehensive testing and clear markers. They may use targeted supplements, adjust nutrition and lifestyle, track cycles, and receive therapies like acupuncture.
Others begin with more spaciousness — focusing on intention and connection before adding layers of support.
Neither approach is wrong.
If you’re nearing a season where you’d like to welcome a baby, start with intention — and find a provider you trust. Conception is rarely perfectly linear. Having support in place means you don’t have to navigate it alone.
In Part 2, I’ll share specific naturopathic and holistic modalities that can support fertility.

J a p a n e s e A c u p u n c t u r e
I’ve posted about this before, and I’m sure I will again. This is one of my favorite modalities that I use in practice every day.
The practice of Japanese Acupuncture has developed over hundreds of years mostly at the hands of blind practitioners. I like to think that for this reason, it has developed in the way that it has; without the sense of sight, touch becomes very important. It almost feels like seeing with your hands, gentle, subtle and very informative.
This treatment style emphasizes the way of less is more, and I am always surprised at how deeply it can affect the body.
Above are some of my favorite tools, teishin and moxa. Teishin is a non-insertive needle and moxa is a ubiquitous plant that is used to warm, tonify and activate meridians.
I see profound effects with these tools. My treatments can be entirely without the use of insertive needling. This makes it safe for the most sensitive patients, including babies.
Some of the things I see this work really well for: anxiety, depression, neuropathy, side effects of chemo, pain, digestive issues, colds and flus, difficult sleep.
