Dogtoberfest is this Saturday! 🍻🐾

The DoveLewis Blood Bank provides blood for more than 700 transfusions each year, and tomorrow you can meet some of the canine donors who make it possible.

We’re taking over Lucky Lab Beer Hall with music from XRAY.FM, games, vendors, beer, hot dogs, and plenty of dogs. Bring a new toy for our Blood Bank donor pets and help support the program that keeps blood available when pets need it most. ❤️

Learn practical skills to help you feel more confident in those stressful first moments when your pet needs help. We’ll cover how to assess your pet, check vital signs, recognize when urgent veterinary care is needed, provide basic first aid, and safely transport an injured or ill animal.

Olive has been small but mighty from the beginning. She was found along a road in Northern California and adopted by her family when she was just four months old. Years later, she faced another fight when a severe GI illness led to septic shock.

For five days, our ICU team treated her with fluids and antibiotics while closely monitoring her blood pressure, blood sugar, and liver. Slowly, her numbers improved and she grew stronger. Eventually, she was ready to go home.

Her family tells us she is back to keeping her large dog playmate in check, racing through the grass at the farm, investigating rodent holes, and curling up in warm blankets by the fire. Small but mighty, indeed. 💚

Good dogs, cold beer, great music, and a lifesaving cause. What more could you want? 🍻🐾

Dogtoberfest is back, and this year the fun is moving to Lucky Lab Beer Hall! Come hang out with us on September 26, meet some of DoveLewis’ canine blood donors, hear incredible stories of pets whose lives were changed by a transfusion, and see what makes these four-legged heroes so special.
