.brinson ‘Bo’ first connected with The Insight Alliance while incarcerated at Columbia River Correctional Facility in 2018–19, where he took part in Insight to Wellbeing.
Even then, there was something about him - a genuine openness, curiosity, and willingness to look at life differently.
After his release in 2019, Bo returned as a peer mentor, supporting others on a similar path with the same generosity and insight that shaped his own journey.
It’s been a joy to watch him grow into the leader he is today.
“Insight to Wellbeing was a catalyst for my recovery. It helped me unlearn a lot of what I’d picked up over the years - and see that my thoughts pass like the weather. That understanding is invaluable.”
— Bo Brinson
Today, Bo serves as the Executive Director of .recovers, working across communities, service providers, and policymakers to strengthen recovery support across the state.
He’s also a devoted husband to his wife, , and a proud father to their son, Jaydon.
His journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when people are given the space, understanding, and support to see their lives in a new way.
So grateful to have him as part of this community - as a friend, colleague, and collaborator. ❤️

Santy and I were grateful for the opportunity to speak at the SPARK Youth Wellbeing & Resilience Summit in Florida.
Being part of a panel on the next generation of wellbeing and resilience was powerful. The conversation brought together voices from across systems of care - mental health, human trafficking response, rehabilitation, and criminal justice - all focused on how we can better support young people.
I shared some reflections on the school-to-prison pipeline - and how, in many ways, it can also be an education-to-prison pipeline. The cultural lessons young people absorb in school shape how they see themselves, their potential, and how they navigate life. If we want different outcomes, we have to be willing to rethink the systems and assumptions behind them.
That’s why the work happening through , , and The Insight Alliance - along with many others in this space - is so exciting. Together we are creating spaces where young people can reconnect with their innate resilience and understanding, working upstream in prevention while still supporting those who need intervention.
It was also great to reconnect and collaborate with the Rebels for Peace crew and so many others committed to youth wellbeing. The energy, ideas, and creativity made the experience even richer.
Feeling inspired by the people doing this work and the possibility of systems that truly uplift the next generation.
— Beto Contreras.

✨ GIVE A GIFT OF BELONGING & LEADERSHIP✨️
Coming home from prison or treatment can be one of the loneliest moments in a person’s life. Systems feel overwhelming, trust is fragile, and it’s easy to feel like you’re doing it all alone.
That’s why peer mentorship matters.
At The Insight Alliance, our mentors walk alongside people as they rebuild their lives — offering real support, shared understanding, and a community that says:
“You belong here. You’re not alone.”
Chris Lambert isn’t just one of our mentors — he is a pillar for change in our community.
After incarceration, The Insight Alliance gave Chris his first employment. More than that, they gave him belonging. A family. And a way to give back — which changed everything.
“Insight to Wellbeing helped me see my situation differently. I stopped fighting and started understanding. Since coming home, I’ve been a mentor — they gave me my first job, and they feel like family.”
Our peer mentors — all with lived experience of incarceration, addiction, or deep adversity — help people navigate housing, employment, mental health care, and the moments that matter most. And over time, mentees don’t just stabilise — they become leaders too.
💛 Your gift helps grow this network of lived-experience leaders so no one has to come home alone.
👉 Give today and help turn isolation into connection — and potential into leadership.

GIVE A GIFT OF PEACE
Peace isn’t what most people picture when they think of prison.
But inside our Insight to Wellbeing groups, you can feel it.
Laughter in the classroom.
Shoulders softening as shame loosens its grip.
That quiet moment when someone realizes, “I’m not broken after all.”
Since 2016, The Insight Alliance has worked with thousands of youth and adults facing some of life’s hardest circumstances — incarceration, addiction, and the ripple effects of trauma and hopelessness. We don’t tell people what’s wrong with them or how to fix their lives. We help people understand how their mind truly works — where clarity, resilience, and wellbeing are already built in, no matter what they’ve been through.
“I was dealing with anger issues and thinking the world was against me. This program taught me that life wasn’t happening to me — it was happening through me. It helped me understand myself from the inside out and see life in a completely different light.”
— Eric, Insight to Wellbeing participant
This year, hundreds of incarcerated adults and youth have participated in Insight to Wellbeing, learning to navigate anger, anxiety, and hopelessness with greater ease and reconnect with their own wisdom and peace of mind.
Your gift helps bring peace, insight, and wellbeing into places most people never see, to people who are too often written off.
Give today so hope and possibility aren’t limited by someone’s past or by the walls around them.
