Space Garbage
est 2004 "Space Garbage" is a life-sized, immersive installation that references classic science fiction movie set design.
Disposable materials like styrofoam shipping blocks, vacuformed plastic take-out containers, cardboard tubes, foamcore scraps, and other twenty-first century detritus are repurposed to become engine-room components and spaceship corridors. Upon entering the space, the viewer encounters a world that is alternately recognizable and novel, depending on one’s proximity. From afar "Space Garbage" looks
